Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cook Time: 25 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes | Servings: 4

Ingredients

Salmon

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Honey Garlic Glaze

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 3 tablespoons clover honey

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Herbed Orzo

  • 1 cup orzo pasta

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the orzo according to package directions until al dente. Drain and toss with oregano and parsley. Set aside.

  2. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  4. Add salmon to the pan and sear, undisturbed, for 4 minutes until a golden crust forms.

  5. Flip the salmon and add butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

  6. Whisk honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice together, then pour into the skillet.

  7. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, spooning the glaze over the salmon until thickened and glossy.

  8. Serve the salmon over herbed orzo and finish with extra pan sauce.

Chef’s Tip

“For a perfect restaurant-quality crust, make sure your pan is hot before adding the salmon—and don’t move the fillets until they release naturally.”
